What Exactly Is Coinigy and Why Connect it To Cryptopia?

I see a lot of confusion with crypto traders around Coinigy. Many people aren’t sure how the platform adds value to their trading process or at what stage in their trading they need a tool like Coinigy, or if they ever do.

Coinigy is one of my top crypto trading tools and saves me an immense amount of time. I’m one of those people who isn’t great at organizing across multiple apps. I’m always looking for the “One App To Rule Them All”. When I’m working on projects that require multiple apps I always look for a platform app that can connect them all up in the background and streamline my workflow so I’m not switching between multiple silo’s of disconnected information.

Coinigy does this for crypto trading. By connecting Coinigy to all your crypto exchanges you will have ONE unified place to login and trade your crypto across all of your exchanges. How awesome is that?

Personally, I’ve found that Coinigy has saved me tons of time and headaches by diminishing confusion across my portfolio of altcoins and exchanges.

So if you have more than one exchang you're actively trading on, Coinigy will be a lifesaver. If you only plan on trading on your one exchange, you probably don't need it, but it still has some great features that might lure you in.

I could go on and on forever on the virtues of Coinigy, but you’ll just have to setup a free trial and get started tinkering around yourself to truly understand how essential this tool really is to any serious crypto trader.

Let’s dive into the guide.

How To Connect Coinigy To Cryptopia Step-By-Step

We’re going to start this process by going to your ‘Topia account and getting your API keys. Those keys will be added to your Coinigy account so that Coinigy can securely access the Cryptopia trading platform.

Step 1. Login to your Cryptopia account and in the drop down below your account name, click on “Settings”

Step 2. On the left navigation beneath your avatar click on the “Security” tab, you will now be asked to enter your 2FA pin code if you’ve set one, and will now see this screen:

Step 3. You need to create a new API key. Checkmark “Enable API” and “Enable Withdrawal”, and then click on “NEW KEY” in the API settings section.

You will now have a randomly generated API key and API secret that you will need to save for Coinigy. It should look something like this:

These keys allow Coinigy to get all of the information it needs from Cryptopia to be able to make trades, show balances, etc.

Step 4. In a new tab log into Coinigy, and click on “Settings” and then click on “API Accounts”

Step 6. Fill out the fields below, this is where you need your API key and API secret from Cryptopia.

Name this account connection whatever you want, Cryptopia seems relevant.

Copy and paste the API key you got from Topia into it’s correct field. It must be EXACT, no extra spaces, etc.

Copy and past the API secret into its correct area. Again, being exact is the name of the game here.

Step 7. Click confirm.

Now Coinigy is connected! There’s one last step before you can make trades.

Step 8. Make sure to check mark “Trading” and “Active” on the accounts section of your API connections or Cryptopia won’t be connected..

Step 9. Is your Cryptopia account already funded? If not, Coinigy can’t make any trades. Go fund it now!

Remember that Coinigy is a front-end trading environment and tool for your exchanges, not an exchange itself. You need to have an active balance of coins on Cryptopia for Coinigy to read that data and let you trade.

OK! That should be it! It’s super easy. It may take a little while for Coinigy to show your Cryptopia balances and let you trade, but once you’re balance shows up, you’re good to go and can start trading right away!
