What is a Crypto Screener?
A cryptocurrency screener is a tool that scans and analyzes publicly available data on crypto tokens and blockchains. With a screener, you can quickly and easily sort through dozens or hundreds of crypto tokens and assets to find new opportunities.
How do crypto screeners work?
Typically screeners scrape and aggregate publicly available information on digital assets via blockchain explorers, publicly available code, liquidity pools, company websites, and blockchains to put together enough information to be useful for their end users.

How to trade on Dex Screener:
Dex Screener itself merely aggregates token data and price data from decentralized exchanges. The actual trading takes place on the DEX.
Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs) operate a little differently from Centralized Exchanges (CEX), which are owned and operated by a corporation. DEXs are typically automated market makers, meaning they are programmatically managing and settling buy and sell orders from anonymous traders all over the world. The DEX is settling transactions automatically via a liquidity pool and isn't being managed by human operators.
If you want to start investing in cryptocurrencies you find on Dex Screener, you’ll first need to purchase some crypto, send it to your wallet on the correct blockchain, and login to the DEX where your desired coin is trading.
Here's the step by step:
Step 1 - Get a wallet
You'll need a wallet capable of storing the cryptocurrency you want to buy. The most common hot wallet for Ethereum-based chains is MetaMask, but there are plenty of others. You can also use a cold-storage wallet like a Ledger or Trezor. Make sure to backup your personal seed phrase and store your password offline for security purposes.
Remember: if you lose your backup seed phrase, your crypto is gone.
Step 2 - Fund your wallet
Purchase crypto from a CEX like Gate.io, KuCoin, or Coinbase. Then send it to your wallet. You may have to wait a little while for the funds to appear. If you don't see it in your wallet right away, use a chain explorer like etherscan.io to check your wallet balance and verify that your funds have arrived.
Step 3 - Connect To The Dex
Next you need to connect your wallet to the DEX. You do that through a series of approvals in your wallet. Locate the "Connect Wallet" button and follow the prompts until you are connected. Warning: Make 100% sure you trust the DEX you are connecting to.
Step 4 - Make a Swap and start trading
Now you just need to start trading (or swapping) as it's called. A swap is an automatic trade that takes place in the liquidity pool. In the example below, we're swapping 1 ETH for 16.6 AAVE tokens.

We recommend KuCoin, Gate.io, and ByBit for the largest selection of altcoins, however, if you’re US-based, you might want to try FTX.us.
