How To Use GoHighLevel Conversations?

Here are some tips for using the Conversations feature to achieve business success:

1. Unread vs. Read

Once you get a message from a lead, the chat will show up under the Unread tab. Even after reading the message, it would still remain under the Unread tab.

To remove a new chat from the Unread tab, you need to either click on the “Mark as Read” button or respond to the message via SMS or email.

And if you want to automate the read status of incoming messages, you can add the lead to an automation workflow.

Here’s how to edit your automation workflow to do this:

  • Go to the Workflow you want to edit.
  • Click “+” to add a new trigger action.
  • Search for the “Edit Conversation” action and click on it.
  • Next, select the “Mark as Read” option from the second drop-down menu.
  • Click the “Save Action” button to save the workflow.

2. Sorting Messages

GoHighLevel Conversations allows you to filter incoming messages so you don’t get bogged down in your processes.

It has a new Conversation panel dedicated to helping you filter conversations, perform various actions, and improve the overall experience.

To activate Conversation Filters for your sub-account, do this:

  • Go to your Sub-account ‘Settings’.
  • Head to Labs.
  • Scroll down and switch on the 'Enable' conversation filter toggle.

Once you’ve enabled it, you have access to sort your messages, filter chats, and even perform bulk actions.

You can sort their messages in any of these ways:

  • Latest to oldest 
  • A list of all the latest messages
  • A list of all the oldest messages

Doing this helps you monitor the details of each prospect, maximize sales opportunities, and ensure no lead falls through the cracks. 

3. Filter Conversations

You can filter conversations and narrow down your options when searching for leads that fall into a certain category.

While in your Conversations View, you can filter your conversations by the following options:

  • Conversation type
  • Assignee
  • Last message channel
  • Last message type
  • Last message direction
  • Last outbound message type
  • Last outbound message action

You can also combine the quick filter options along with the sort options mentioned above to narrow down the results even more and structure your conversations better.

4. Performing Bulk Actions

Another great use case of GoHighLevel Conversations is helping agencies manage their chats in bulk.

This is where the Bulk Actions tool comes in. It allows you to manage and bulk edit up to 100 conversations at a time.

To manage multiple conversations at the same time, you can perform many actions which include:

  • Mark as Read — All selected conversations will be marked as read.
  • Mark as Unread — All selected conversations will be marked as unread.
  • Mark as Starred — All selected conversations will be starred.
  • Mark as Unstarred — All selected conversations will be unstarred.
  • Delete — All selected conversations will be deleted.

You’ll need to first use the filter and sort options to select conversations before performing any of these actions. Also, conversations marked as starred will have an icon attached by its side so you can identify it easily.
